LEAD
Abatement, Inspection, Risk Assessment and Design
Lead overexposure is one of the leading causes of
workplace illness and is a major potential public health risk. PES is experienced in various methods of abatement
including but not limited to: hazard reduction of lead-based paint that is adhered to
surfaces, removal of loose and flaking lead-based paint, dust,
and lead-contaminated soil. Removal methods include:
chemical stripping, wet scraping, needle gun, roto-peen, and
abrasive blasting. High efficiency particulate air (HEPA)
vacuums are utilized for dust and debris clean up. TCLP
analysis of removal materials, as required, is performed to assure
proper disposal of lead-contaminated waste and debris generated
from removal operations. PES is also disciplined in the
services of inspection, risk assessment, and hazard reduction
design. Lead services have been performed in commercial
buildings, government and institutional buildings, school,

ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENTS
Phase I, II, & III Environmental Site Assessments
PES has
conducted Environmental Site Assessments for over 7 years.
Environmental Site Assessments have been required for a number of
years by banks and lending companies financing the purchase of
commercial and industrial properties. These assessments
protect the financial institutions as well as the potential buyers
from holding a deed to a property containing environmental hazard
liabilities.

Radon is a colorless, odorless radioactive gas
found in soil. Radon ranks as a "Class A carcinogen" and
becomes a health concern when it seeps through foundations,
basement floors, cracks in walls, other openings and enters living
spaces. PES has
recently become involved in the mitigation of radon, from
implementing and evaluating a mitigation plan to the design
and installation of radon mitigation systems.
